Network Station - finding Arial fonts in the X11 filesets of the RS/6000
Applicable to: World-Wide
Problem:
The directory structure /usr/netstation/fonts/pcf/75dpi has no alias in the fonts.alias file. This results in the Arial font not being found.
Solution:
The full name of the font must be used. The short names (such as arial32, arial40...) will work after "FILE_NAMES_ALIASES" is added in the /usr/netstation/fonts/pcf/75dpi/fonts.alias file. The fonts.alias files in /usr/netstation/fonts/pcf/* directories are missing a line "FILE_NAMES_ALIASES" at the beginning of the file. Due to the short font names such as 'arial32', the system does not recognize the fonts. This is not a defect, all of the fonts.alias files are in the X11* fileset usr/lib/X11/fonts/* .
