Question:
When I type a person's name in a cell or field, why does Works automatically change it to the name of a month?

Answer:
If you type data that resembles the name of a month into a cell or field, Works assumes that it is the name of a month and modifies the data accordingly. This can happen with some people's names. For example, Works may abbreviate the names April, March, and June to Apr, Mar, and Jun. Names like Marc and Jan may be automatically expanded to March and January.

To increase its speed and ease of use, Works is programmed to make some assumptions. Sometimes its assumptions may be incorrect. To avoid this problem, enter the names as text, by starting each entry with a quotation mark.

I'm still a bit confused about print areas. How do I reset the print area in the Works Spreadsheet?

Answer:

To reset the print area in Works 2.0 use the following two-step procedure:

1. From the Select menu, choose All.

2. From the File menu, choose Set Print Area.


NOTE: If you reset the print area in Works 2.0a, Works warns you that the print area is being changed. Works 2.0 does not.

How do I un-hide rows and columns in the Works 2.0 Spreadsheet?

Answer:
Use this three step procedure:


1. From the Select menu, choose ALL.

2. From the Format menu, choose Column Width.

3. In the Column Width dialogue box either accept the default column width of 10, or greater than zero. Chose OK.


Question:
How many fonts can I have in my spreadsheet?

Answer:
Works 2.0 will only allow you to use one font in your spreadsheet.
