24/48GB Tape Autoloader - Fails with "Clean me" message

Applicable to: AP-S, Canada, EMEA, LA, United States

Symptom:
The 24/48GB Tape Autoloader shows a "Clean me" message a few days after it has been cleaned.

Configuration:

• Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 3
• Either Internal 24/48GB Tape Autoloader (94G2725) or External 24/48GB Tape Autoloader (3503100)

Solution:
The 24/48GB Tape Autolader units are not supported when connected to any type RAID controller. The Autoloader requires Multiple Lun Support. RAID does not allow for this. An Adaptec 2940 SCSI adapter card needs to be installed or an onboard Adaptec needs to be used if available on the IBM system.
