Aptiva - Resolving problems playing AVI files on Mwave machines
Applicable to: AP-S
Symptom:
When running certain applications you may occasionally get no sound associated with the current .avi file that is playing. This symptom usually occurs with applications that were designed with asymetrix toolbook.
Solution:
The fix is to make a modification to the mwave.ini in the c:\windows directory.
Within the [pcmwave] section of the mwave.ini a line needs to be added:
maxinst=1
This has been tested on a 2144/2168/2176 systems with Mwave version 2.21, 1.3 and 1.32 respectively. The applications tested were Brazil's Bossa Nova and, in the US.,Learn Key's Intro to Word 7.0 and Executives Intro to the Internet.
