PS/1-Aptiva - What is the MEM command?
Applicable to: World-Wide
The MEM command is issued from the DOS command prompt. It is used to display the amount of used and unused memory and all of the programs running on your system at the time the command is issued. The output which is displayed on your screen will show you how much base, extended and/or expanded memory is available and how much of each is being used.
To determined how much memory each programs are using, and to determine if the programs are running in conventual or upper memory use the commend MEM/C/P (the P is used to pause the screen so the information will be displayed only one screen at a time until a key is pressed). This information is useful for editing your AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS files to free up conventual memory.
