PS/1-Aptiva - Microsoft Works: How can I select records that don't have a common entry in any field?

When the records in your database do not have a common entry in any field, you can add a "CHECKLIST" field. The "Checklist" field will allow you to flag the records you want to view or print.
1. To add checklist field to a database, highlight the column (in list view) and choose EDIT from the
menu bar.
2. Select INSERT RECORD/FIELD. Works will then add a new, empty field to the left of the first column.
3. Choose EDIT from menu bar.
4. Select FIELD NAME.., type a name, such as Checklist, in the Name text box, and choose OK.
5. Once you've created the field, you can flag the records to be selected by inserting an "X" in the Checklist field for each of the desired records and press [Enter].
6. To select the records you've checked, choose VIEW from the menu bar.
7. Choose the QUERY command, type "X" in the Checklist blank of the query form, and press [Enter].
8. When you press [F10], Works will select only those records with an X in the Checklist field, hiding the rest.
The selected records may now be printed from your database or used with a form letter created in the word processor.
You can redisplay the entire database by choosing Show All Records from the Select menu. If you need to isolate a different batch of records, just highlight the checklist field and choose the Clear command from the Edit menu to remove all Xs.
