Aptiva - Using The CHDIR/CD Command
Applicable to: World-Wide
Most people use the abbreviated version of this command, CD. It is typed in at the DOS command prompt. The syntax of the command is as follows: CHDIR [drive:]\[path] or CD [drive:]\[path]
drive:\path is where you want to go, your destination, in the directory tree. If you do not specify a drive or path, DOS will simply display the current directory path of the drive and the current directory.
An example
If you wish to change from the root directory, C:\>, to the WORKS directory, you can type the following: CD WORKS, press [Enter] and your new prompt will be C:\WORKS\>
Note
Unless you need to change drives, you do not need to include it in the CD statement.
