IBM IntelliStation M Pro (Type 6888)/IBM PC300XL (Type 6588) - How to modify the "IBM" startup logo

SYMPTOM:
Users can change the logo that shows on the screen during the boot process by the following procedure.
RESOLUTION:
Intel provides a utility that will allow the user to change this logo to a custom bitmap. The utility can be found at the following URL:
http: //developer.intel.com/design/motherbd/gen_indx.htm
Then download logo_utl.exe program.
Note: before using this program, please make sure the system is running BIOS version NEJT11A or higher. Click on this link to obtain the latest version of BIOS for this system:
After downloading the program:
1. Type "logo_utl" under the command prompt, this will unpack the utility sw.exe.
2. Insert a blank 1.44 MB diskette in drive A:
3. Type "sw a:"
4. Read the readme.txt file from the diskette which sw.exe creates. The readme file will explain how to perform the logo update.
