PS/2 Server 85 / 95 - Duplexing when both drives are internal

Applicable to: World-Wide

Question
Is duplexing when both sets of drives are internal supported in the 85/95?

Answer
Internal duplexing is supported in the Server 85/95 using ONLY the following internal SCSI-2 cables:
IBM SCSI-2 8-bit Internal Cable 95 (32G3098)
IBM SCSI-2 16-bit Internal Cable 95 (32G3922)
These cables are either twisted pair or flat to twisted pair and wrapped. They reduce emissions and provide for better air flow in the 90s and 95s. Always use the same controller board when duplexing, ie, do not mix the Enhanced 32-bit SCSI Adapter/A w/cache with the SCSI-2 Fast Wide Adapter/A.

The IBM SCSI-2Fast/Wide Adapter/A has two separate channels, internal and external. You may duplex off this one board with some degree of fault tolerance. The Fast/Wide Adapter/A can support a maximum of 7 devices total.
