PS/1 - Copying Two 1.0MB Diskettes onto a 2.0MB Diskette

The instructions following below is one of the best ways of copying two 1.0MB (DD) diskettes onto one 2.0MB (HD) diskette from the DOS command prompt:
1. At the four quadrant screen, press [SHIFT]+[F9] to get to the command prompt.
2. At the command prompt (C:\), type the following and then press [Enter]: MD TEMP
3. Insert the first 1.0MB diskette into the A: drive. Type the following command and press [Enter]: COPY A:\*.* C:\TEMP The only spaces are after "COPY" and before "C:\".
4. After the first diskette has finished copying, repeat step 3 with the second 1.0MB diskette.
5. Now, insert the formatted 2.0MB diskette in the A: drive. Type the following command and press [Enter]: COPY C:\TEMP\*.* A:\ The only spaces are after "COPY" and before "A:\".
6. All of the files from the temp subdirectory will copy onto the 2.0MB diskette. When those files have been copied, type the following command, press [Enter]: DEL C:TEMP\*.* This will erase all the files from your fixed disk that you copied from the two 1.0MB diskettes. In order to remove the "TEMP" subdirectory, you can type the following and press [Enter]: RD TEMP However, you may want to leave it there for future copying.
NOTE: You may want to run a DIR of the 2.0MB diskette to make sure that all the files were copied, before deleting them.
