TP General - Out of memory errors in Dial-Up Networking

Symptom:
Clicking on Dial Properties in Dial-Up Networking gives "out of memory" or "insufficient memory" error.
Steps to Recreate:
Click on My Computer -> Dial-Up Networking and double-click on the icon for the connection you are trying to use. On the first screen is a button for "Dial Properties". This screen allows you to specify 9 to dial out, the ability to disable call waiting, and other options. Trying to access this screen is where the error typically occurs.
Configuration:
Windows 95, all versions
Solution:
Recreate the telephony files:
1. Rename the telephony files in the c:\windows\system folder:
ren tapi.dll tapi.ibmren tapi32.dll tapi32.ibmren tapiaddr.dll tapiaddr.ibmren tapiexe.exe tapiexe.ibm2. Extract the tapi.dll, tapi32.dll, tapiaddr.dll and tapiexe.exe from cabs.
For preloaded Windows 95 4.00.950 and 95A:
(from any directory) use the following command to extract the files from the cab files:
extract c:\windows\options\cabs\win95_18.cab tapi.dll /L c:\windows\system(repeat for the other 3 files)
For preloaded windows 95 osr2 and 2.1:
(from any directory) use the following command to extract the files from the cab files:
extract c:\windows\options\cabs\win95_17.cab tapi.dll /L c:\windows\system (repeat for the other 3 files)
For systems that were loaded from the Retail CD-ROM version of Windows 95
(from any directory) use the following command to extract the files from the cab files:
(replace X with the drive letter of your CD-ROM drive)
extract X:\windows\options\cabs\win95_11.cab tapi.dll /L c:\windows\system (repeat for the other 3 files)
3. Rename the telephon.ini file in the c:\windows folder.
ren telephon.ini telephon.ibm4. Run tapiini.exe (from start->run). This will recreate the telephon.ini file, which stores the settings for all tapi-enabled applications.
