TP General - Hang at boot with Hayes Optima PCMCIA modem in Windows NT

SYMPTOM:
1. Intermittent hang at boot of Windows NT 4.0 (about 1 of 10 boots) with a ThinkPad 760E,ED,EL,ELD,XD,XL and 765.
2. Intermittent loss of modem function in Windows NT 4.0 (about 1 of 10 boots) with any ThinkPad.
Note: This problem has not been observed when using the EZJack version of the Hayes Optima PCMCIA modem.
CONFIGURATION:
Any ThinkPad with a Hayes Optima 28.8 or 33.6 T2 (Non-EZJack) PCMCIA modem
SOLUTION:
Removing the Modem will eliminate the condition. You will want to contact Hayes Technical Support at (770) 441-1617 for further information.
