Aptiva - 2176-C6Z Poor or choppy CDI video
Applicable to: Canada, United States
If an IOMEGA Zip Drive is jumpered as a Master on the Secondary IDE controller, some CDI videos will display slowly. This is caused by the Windows 95 software polling the ZIP drive for a disk insertion. This interrupts the CD ROM activity. To prevent the problem, the Zip drive should be jumpered as Slave on the Primary IDE controller.
NOTE: The chances of a system being shipped from the factory in this incorrect configuration is very remote. This should be taken in consideration when attempting to resolve a CDI video problem. We recommend looking for other reasons first, since access to the back of the IOMEGA Zip drive is difficult.
