Aptiva - Listing of Aptiva models that require a jumper movement to disable
onboard video

The following Aptiva models require a jumper movement to disable onboard before a new video adapter can be installed:
2144-xxP and 2168-xxP models:
J15 must be set on pins 2 and 3.
Model 2144-P30:
J15 must be set on pins 2 and 3.
2134 and 2176 models with SIS video controllers:
JP37 must be open. Other 2176 models have jumper JP10 which may need to be disabled with some video adapters.
2140 & 2142 models with Type A-1 system board:
JP4 may need to be moved to pins 2-3.
2142 & 2142 models with Type A-2 system board:
JP2 may need to be moved to pins 2-3.
Note: Some of the systems state that the jumper " May" need to be moved. This is only for adding a video card that doesn't work before changing the jumper settings.
