TP 560/E/X - How to remove the ThinkPad from the port replicator
Applicable to: World-Wide
SYMPTOM:
Cannot detach the ThinkPad from the port replicator.
CONFIGURATION:
Any ThinkPad 560/560E/560X attached to the port replicator (P/N 05K4644, FRU 05K4645).
SOLUTION:
It is important when disconnecting Port Rep from system to not put any rotational force on the Port Replicator relative to the system; otherwise the latches may bind and not release the system.
Recommended procedure:
1. Place system/replicator on flat surface.
2. Grasp system at back corners so fingers are under system and thumbs are on Port Replicator release buttons.
3. Push buttons down with thumbs.
4. Raise system up off port replicator by pushing system up with fingers.
5. Insure the port replicator remains in contact with flat surface and does not rotate.
