Aptiva - 2144/2168 Deleting Mwave

BACKUP ALL AFFECTED FILES BEFORE EDITING THE FILES. These edits will remove MWave software from your computer: sound card, modem, and fax capabilities. USE CARE. This information is intended for the experienced user.

1. Remove the following line from the CONFIG.SYS:
DEVICEHIGH=C:\MWAVE_C\VHDD0420.EXE

2. Remove the following lines from the AUTOEXEC.BAT:
SET MWROOT=C:\MWD
SET LIBPATH=C:\MWD\MANAGER
SET MWPATH=C:\MWD\MANAGER;C:\MWD\MWGAMES
REM The following is used by DOS games to recognize Sound Blaster....
REM If hardware settings are changed, please change this line as well...
REM If hardware settings are changed, please change this line as well...
REM See the Mwave README file for instructions.
SET BLASTER=A220 I5 D1

3. Remove the following lines from the WIN.INI:

vox=MwaveTPS

4. Remove the following lines from the SYSTEM.INI:

You must remove any references in the Device Manager that refer to the Mwave. You must also remove the following files:
1. del c:\windows\mwave.ini
2. deltree c:\mw*
