5250 Emulation PCI Adapter - Replacement due to conflicts with PCI BusMaster adapters

IBM internal testing has shown that a potential for interference exists between the IBM 5250 Emulation PCI Adapter (P/N 88H0207) and PCI BusMaster Adapters.
If the IBM 5250 Emulation PCI Adapter and any IBM or non-IBM PCI BusMaster adapter are installed in the same Personal Computer, you could potentially encounter data errors when transferring data between the AS/400(R) or System 3/X and the Personal Computer. This condition can occur without generating an error message. This problem was identified in internal testing. No customer problems have been reported to date. Affected 5250 Emulation PCI Adapters were first sold by IBM in September, 1996.
Resellers who purchase direct from IBM will be granted a one-time return of the IBM 5250 Emulation PCI Adapter (P/N 88H0207). Please fax your return request.

The return must be clearly labelled "5250 Exchange" in order to ensure that the return does not count toward your IBM Returns Cap.
Resellers who purchase direct from IBM may choose to place a new order for the IBM 5250 Emulation PCI Adapter (P/N 88H0207) or the IBM 5250 Express PCI Adapter (P/N 82H4708) using their existing order entry process.

If you have the 5250 Emulation PCI Adapter (P/N 88H0207) and are using a PCI BusMaster Adapter, or intend to add a PCI BusMaster Adapter in the future, IBM will send you a replacement 5250 Emulation PCI Adapter at no charge in order to
prevent the potential condition. Please call (800) 266-7763, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. EDT to arrange for a replacement.
Other IBM PCI adapters are not affected.
Notification of this preventive action is part of IBM's continuing commitment to superior product support and customer satisfaction.
