PCMCIA v.34 Data/Fax Modem - Unable to consistently connect with Lotus cc:Mail when installed in a ThinkPad 380

Problem:
When using Lotus cc:Mail, the IBM PCMCIA v.34 Data/Fax Modem will not consistently connect using a ThinkPad 380 system. Additionally, Lotus cc:Mail does not have a selectable option available in setup for this modem.
Resolution:
The latest cc:Mail script file as well as the mdm.zip file correct these problems and can be found on the Lotus support page at: http://www.support.lotus.com. Follow the links to cc:mail support.
