I. Physical connections:
1) Turn off the computer and the monitor.
2) Unplug the cable from where it plugs into the system unit. Examine the pins at the end of the connector. Some pins may be missing, however, none should be bent. If any are bent use a set of needle-nose pliers, tweezers, ball point pin, or some implement to bend the pin so that it is straight.
3) Re-plug the cable back into the computer, and tighten the thumb screws.
4) Examine the quality of the picture after the computer is up and running. If the brightness is not satisfactory precede to step II.

II. Standard monitor settings (contrast):
1) While the computer is running do the following:
2) Press the MENU button one time. This will bring up the "Main Menu" and CONTRAST will be selected by default. (Note: if more than 3 seconds elapses without a button being depressed, the menu item will go away.)
3) Press the SELECT button.
4) Increase the Contrast Ratio to 100% by pressing the plus button (+).
5) Examine the quality of the picture. If the brightness is not satisfactory precede to step III.

6) Examine the quality of the picture. If the brightness is not satisfactory precede to step IV.
