Aptiva - Unable to use disk cache on specified drive error

If you have set up SmartDrive to cache a Stacker compressed drive, you will get the following warning message during the execution of the AUTOEXEC.BAT file:
WARNING: Unable to use disk cache on the specified drive
In your AUTOEXEC.BAT file, you will see a line similar to the following:
C:\DOS\SMARTDRV.EXE C+ /U
Where the C+ indicates that write caching for the C: drive is desired. If the C: drive is compressed with Stacker (or with any disk compression program), SMARTDRV will not cache the drive.
To stop this warning message from being issued, change the SMARTDRV line in the AUTOEXEC.BAT file to:
C:\DOS\SMARTDRV.EXE /U
Stacker and other disk compression programs are able to provide their own caching for the compressed drives that they control, so there is no loss of caching for the drive. The above change will simply prevent the error message from being issued with no other effects.
