Note: The conversion card is required only if you are using a 760E/ED/EL/ELD/X/XD/XL series ThinkPad in a DOCK 1 or 2 with an IDE device such as a Hard Disk Drive (HDD) or CD-ROM drive in the docking station.
1. Shutdown and power off ThinkPad.
2. Remove ThinkPad from the Docking station.
3. Open the Docking station.
- Dock 1 - Remove the two screws on the bottom an remove cover.
- Dock 2 - Remove the two thumbscrews on the rear of the Dock and remove cover.
4. Locate your IDE Device (HDD or CD-ROM.)
5. Follow the cable from the device to where it plugs into the docking station.
6. Does the cable have a small 3" cable with a 2" circuit card in line before the connection on the dock?
- If no, then the card is not installed.
- If yes, then the card is installed.
