Aptiva - 2163/2164 Considerations - IPF uninstalling or reinstalling applications if VoiceCenter is open

Description:
This consideration is regarding the IPF errors received during the uninstallation and reinstallation of applications when VoiceCenter is open. Such errors occur when uninstalling Configsafe, Access, Aptiva Helps, Updater, Norton AntiVirus, and Ring Central and do not occur with IGN, RA keyboard, or PC-Doctor.

2163 and 2164
How to duplicate:
To recreate the problem open ViaVoice Voice Center, but leave the microphone off. Click the Uninstall button in Aptiva Installer for Access and an error will appear stating AIW caused IPF in kernel32.dll at 0177:bff7b983. Then ęconfirm file deletion' message. Then while uninstalling "unable to locate accesscc.scr", and "internal error, unable to load or call external dll..." errors will appear. Next try to reinstall Access from the application CD. Open AIW, highlight the uninstalled program and click reinstall. The exact same IPF error as above will appear. However, it will reinstall. Then reboot the machine and try to uninstall again. The same IPF error will appear. Close the error and cancel the uninstall and it will leave the screen trashed regardless of whether or not Access is opened or closed. Then you can restart the machine, try to uninstall again, and the same error will appear. It will uninstall, but if you reboot and try reinstalling, the same error will appear. Every time Voice Center is open, the error will appear, but as soon as Voice Center is closed the IPF error does not occur.

Workaround:
The user must close Voice Center before installing or uninstalling an application and information has been added to the Aptiva Readme informing the user of such.
