Internal TR3 1.6/3.2GB Tape Drive - Getting the drive to work with the accelerator card on a 2136-E31
Applicable to: Canada, United States
To get the tape drive to work with the accelerator card in an Aptiva 2136-E31do the following:
1. Download the files tr3back1.exe, tr3back2.exe, and tr3back1.txt.
2. Install the accelerator card and tape drive.
3. Install the above downloaded software.
After doing this Windows will still not detect the drive.
4. Use the add new hardware wizard to manually add new hardware. Select, "tape drive controllers", then "iomega" from the manufacturer list and finally "Iomega tape accelerator" from the models list.
5. Restart the computer and all the hardwware should be detected.
Note: There will be no tape drive controllers section in the hardware wizard until the updated software is installed.
