How do I upgrade my computer to Windows 95 with the BOCA card?

Answer:
Follow the steps below.

If you follow the steps below, you will lose all your data and program files. The hard drive will no longer contain any personal information. If you have important files you wish to keep, please save them before going any further.

For the operation you will need:

The Windows 95 upgrade CD
The driver diskette for the Boca card in Windows 95 called BOCA95.EXE. To obtain the necessary file, click here .

Installing Windows 95

1. Start the computer and boot into Windows 3.1.
3. Double click on the Main icon or window, then double click on File Manager.
5. Insert the Windows 95 upgrade CD.
7. Click on the CD ROM drive in File Manager.
9. Double click on the Setup file from the listing of files.
11. Agree with the license terms.
13. At the installation wizard, click on Next.
15. Accept the default directory as C:\WINDOWS, then click on Next.
17. At the save system files prompt, click on Next.
19. For the setup options, choose Typical and choose Next.
21. Enter your user information (name and company, if required), then click on Next.
23. Enter the CD KEY number and then click on Next.
25. At the network adapter, click on Next.
27. At the Get Connected window, click on Next.
29. At the Windows Components, just click on Next.
31. For the Startup Disk, click on Next to create a start-up disk.
33. Click on Next to copy the files to the disk.
35. Click on OK to create the disk.
37. Click on OK when the disk is created.
39. When it's done copying the files, click on Finish.
41. Remove the floppy disk and click OK.
43. At the Time Zone Settings, set the appropriate time zone.
45. Click on Apply when the time zone is set.
47. Click on OK when done.
49. At the Welcome Screen, click on Close. You will have installed Windows 95 now.

Installing the modem and the sound

1. Click on Start, select Settings and choose Control Panel.
3. Double click on the Modems icon.
5. Click on Next.
7. When Windows finds the modem, click on the Change button.
9. Insert the driver disk where you have unpacked BOCA95.EXE.
11. Click on the Have Disk button.
13. Then click on OK.
15. Click OK at the next window.
17. Then click on Next.
19. Enter your area code and click on Next.
21. Then click on Finish.
23. Then click on OK.
25. The modem will be installed.
27. Sounds. In the Control Panel double click on Add New Hardware.
29. Then click on Next.
31. Click on NO.
33. Click on Next.
35. Click on Sound, Video and Game Controllers.
37. Click on Next.
39. Click on Have Disk.
41. Click on OK.
43. Click Next.
45. Click on Next again.
47. Then click on Finish.
49. Click on Yes and remove the disk.
51. When Windows 95 reboots the sound will be installed.
