Hard Drives - PSG unique hard disk drive labels
Applicable to: World-Wide
The IBM Personal Systems Group (PSG) will use an IBM PSG unique label for their EIDE and SCSI Hard Disk Drives. The IBM Storage System Division (SSD) also will have a unique IBM label. In addition to an IBM PSG unique part number and FRU part number found on the IBM PSG label, the IBM PSG label will also include a compatibility statement for IBM Personal
Computers. The IBM SSD label will not share IBM PSG part numbers, will not identify an IBM FRU part number, and will not have an IBM Personal Computer compatibility statement.
Compatibility statement for IBM PSG 3.5 inch hard disk drives (SCSI and EIDE Interface):
This product has been tested for compatibility in IBM Personal Computer system units. Refer to the Statement of Limited Warranty shipped with your option or system for further information.
For the IBM PSG 2.5 inch hard disk drives used with ThinkPad systems:

Note: All future 2.5 inch and 3.5 inch hard disk drives offered by the IBM Personal Systems Group will include a statement of compatibility on the IBM PSG label. The compatibility label for IBM PSG hard disk drives will be added to drives
manufactured in or after the first quarter of 1998.
