TP General - System running IE4.0 hangs at Windows 95 shutdown screen

SYMPTOM:
System hangs on the screen:
"Please wait while your computer shuts down."
CONFIGURATION:
Any Thinkpad running Internet Explorer 4.0 and using a network adapter card.
SOLUTION:
Upgrade your Internet Explorer 4.0 with Service Pack 1 provided by Microsoft.
To upgrade:
1. Make sure your system is connected to a network with internet access
2. Open Internet Explorer
3. Click on Favorites.
4. Click on Microsoft Internet Explorer in the Software Updates folder.
5. Internet Explorer will then go to the Microsoft Web Site and compare itself to the latest version available.
6. Follow the instructions for upgrading to Service Pack 1.
You can also go to their Web Site directly and download the Service Pak. Go to http://www.microsoft.com/ie. There is a title in the page that says Patch Now Available for First Internet Explorer Service Pack. Under that heading, there will be a link to the download page.
