This modem also features ITU standard data/fax capability. The IBM V.90 PCI Data/Fax Modem is compatible with most popular data and fax communication software applications.

The V.90 PCI Data/Fax Modem provides all the advantages of controller-based modems. Features include:

• V.90 and K56flex download speed (up to 56 Kbps)1
• Hayes AT-compatible command set
• V.54 diagnostics
• Half- and full-duplex modes
• Auto dial/auto answer
• Pulse and tone dialing
• Auto call detection
• Plug and Play-compatible

1Designed to be capable of receiving at up to 56 Kbps with K56flex or V.90-compatible phone line and server equipment, and transmitting at up to 31.2 Kbps. Public networks currently limit download speeds to about 53 Kbps. Actual speeds vary and are often less than the maximum.

The V.90 PCI Data/Fax modem is supported on most IBM systems with an available PCI slot. This includes most PC 300GL and PC 300PL configurations, and some Intellistation configurations.

Hardware Requirements for Non-IBM systems:
Supported on Pentium-class systems, or faster, that have an empty PCI slot.
