IBM IntelliStation Z Pro (Type 6865) - VCORE errors reported in UMA/LDCM

Applicable to: World-Wide

Symptom:
IntelliStation Z Pro type 6862 systems running UMA/LDCM (Universal Management Agent, LanClient Control Manager) may report erroneous VCORE (Core Voltage) errors. When using UMA/LDCM while checking the PC Health, under the power supply an error may be reported by the VCORE reading. This is most likely a false error due to a failing Dallas Semiconductor DS1780E IC Chip.

Problem isolation aids:
Visually inspect the IC chip on the system board in socket U12E1, which is located on the lower left side of the system board, approximately 2 inches above the battery. If the information on the IC Chip is (DS1780E) Dallas Semiconductor, this tip applies. This tip does not apply to system boards that contain the Nation Semiconductor (LM81CIM-5X), or the Analog Devices (ADM92-40ARU or AD51/035) chip.

Fix:
Replace the system board with FRU P/N 00N3272.
