Aptiva - No dial tone in Hyperterminal

Applicable to: United States

1. Open 'Hyperterminal' located in accessories group.
2. Select 'Hypertrm' icon.
3. In the box labeled 'Name...' enter name of service to connect to (ex. AOL). Select an icon and click 'OK'.
4. Enter AreaCode and PhoneNumber for service to connect to. Click 'OK'.
5. Select 'MODIFY', 'CONFIGURE', 'CONNECTION'.
6. Click on the check mark so 'Wait for dial tone before dialing' will be removed.
7. Select 'ADVANCED'.
8. In box labeled 'Extra Settings...' add X3. Click 'OK', 'OK', 'OK', 'CANCEL'.
9. Click on 'FILE', 'SAVE'.
10. This should solve the 'no dial tone' error message.
