IBM PC300PL - System will not power off with wrap plug installed
Applicable to: World-Wide
TEXT:
The IBM PC6562 and PC6592 PC300PL systems may not power down properly if a wrap plug is attached to either serial port when the On/Off button is pressed. This condition will only occur if the wrap plug is attached to Serial Port A with the "Wake on Ring" function enabled in the system BIOS, or, if the wrap plug is attached to Serial Port B with the "Wake on LAN" function enabled in the system BIOS.
Performing one of the following two methods will allow the On/Off button to work properly.
1. Remove the wrap plug from the serial ports prior to pressing the On/Off button.
2. Disable the "Wake on Ring" and "Wake on LAN" functions via the F1 setup utility prior to attaching the wrap plug(s).
