TP 760 EL - Warp Server Client Installation

Installation Procedure WARP Server Client on Thinkpad 760 EL

Create the Remote installation diskettes on the WARP SERVER PC from which you want to install the
WARP Server Client on the Thinkpad. Select PCMCIA support for a Thinkpad 755 CE and modify the
config.sys as shown below and select the correct PCMCIA driver for the PCMCIA card.

Copy PCMCIA.SYS to the Remote OS/2 diskette 1 after having it unpacked
Copy IBM2SS04.SYS
Copy IBM2SS14.SYS

from the PCMCIA support diskette for a Thinkpad 760 EL (PCTPG324.DSK) Ver 3.24
Unpack PCMCIA.SY@
Unpack IBM2SS04.SY@
Unpack IBM2SS14.SY@

Modify Config.sys on the Remote OS/2 diskette 1

REM out : BASEDEV=IBM2SS01.SYS
Add : BASEDEV=IBM2SS04.SYS
Add : BASEDEV=IBM2SS14.SYS
Add : SET COPYFROMFLOPY=1

If this is not done the system will TRAP (TRAP000D) when booting from the diskettes.
Boot from the Updated Remote Install diskettes.
First part of installation of WARP will finnish and a reboot wil be done automaticaly,
use ALT+F1 , C , to have a command prompth before the system boots up and REM out
the SONY31A.ADD driver statement in the config.sys or the system will HANG on the
OS/2 WARP logo.
Reboot the Thinkpad and the 2nd part of installation will continue.

Select VGA as Video driver during SYSTEM CONFIGURATION and install the Video Driver
for the TP760 EL (Trident Cyber 9320) from the Video feature diskette for Thinkpad
760 C/CD/L/LD Version 1.01 after installation is done (Just run INSTALL from the diskette,
no README file is present on the diskette).

Do Not Select PCMCIA Support in the SYSTEM Configuration , the necessary files will be
copyed to your system during this procedure.

Do Not Select any AUDIO Driver during SYSTEM CONFIGURATION but install the audio driver
from the Sound Diskette for 760 Ex (AFTPGOS2.EXE).

WARP and MPTS (if you have selected Networking option(s)) will be installed and the
system will reboot automaticaly for a second time and also this time the system will
hang on the OS/2 WARP logo. Copy the PCMCIA.SYS from the PCMCIA Support diskette for
the Thinkpad 760 EL to the Root of the drive where you have installed OS/2 and reboot,
the installation will then continue and end.
