PS/1 - Can I take my PS/1 overseas?
Applicable to: United States
Probably not. The voltage in most overseas countries is 240V. Most PS/1 computers were made for the voltage in the U.S. The voltage in the U.S. is 110V. PS/1's sold overseas are made differently than those sold in the U.S. While there may be devices available to convert the local electrical current to 110V, 60 Hz, we have not tested any and cannot recommend their use.
Some PS/1 computers do include a voltage switch near the power cable connector that allows for connection to 240V outlets. If your computer has one of these switches then it can be adjusted for use overseas. Consult the "Start Here" manual or "PS/1 Users Guide" for information concerning the location and settings of the voltage switch.
