Aptiva - Lockup problems with the game Myst
Applicable to: United States
You may experience lockups with this game. Do the following to resolve the problems.
1.) Disable APM BIOS within the system's Configuration or Setup Utility (accessed by depressing F1 during POST).
2.) Edit the AUTOEXEC.BAT file by placing a REM in front of the line that loads SMARTDRV. This does not apply to systems running Windows95.
3.) If you are using Windows 3.1, select Main, Control Panel, 386 Enhanced, and Virtual Memory. Set up a permanent swap file that is at least 20M if possible.
Doing all or some of these will help. It may not, however, completely solve the problem. Contact the Broderbund if you still experience problems.
