TP General - Using Device Manager to change address settings Windows 95

This document contains information on how to change the addresses in Windows 95 Device Manager.
First you need to get to Device Manager:
1. Turn your ThinkPad on and start Windows 95
2. Click on Start+Settings+Control Panel
3. Double click on System icon
4. Click on the Device Manager Tab
Locate the Category you wish to change:
1. Click on the + for that category to expose the device(s)
2. Double click on the device you wish to change
3. Click on the Resource Tab and make the change there
For example, If you wish to change the address for Sound Blaster Compatible Device:
- Click on the + on Sound Video and Game Controllers
- It will expose "Sound Blaster Compatible Device"
- If you then Double click on it you will see its properties
- Click on the Resource Tab.
- If Use automatic settings is checked, click on it to uncheck it (This will allow for a manual change). Pick the resource you wish to change (e.g. Input/Output 0220-0223) and click on the Change Setting button. Enter in an alternate Input/Output address.
