IBM PC300GL (Type 6267, 6277, 6287)/IBM PC300PL (6862, 6872, 6892) - Display does not "wake up" after enabling ACPI in Windows 98

SYMPTOM:
After enabling the Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) in Windows 98, the display does not power back on (wake up) after power management has powered off the display.

PROBLEM ISOLATION AIDS:
This tip applies to the following IBM Commercial Desktop systems equipped with integrated S3 Trio3D video and preloaded, or installed with Windows 98:

IBM PC300PL Series 6862/6872/6892 systems
IBM PC300GL Series 6267/6277/6287 systems

These systems are shipped with Advanced Power Management (APM) enabled in the Windows 98 operating system. Customers would have enabled ACPI by either running the Windows 98 "Setup /p j" option or by editing the Windows 98 registry as described in Microsoft Knowledge Base article Q195218 for this problem to occur.

FIX:
If the customer wishes to enable ACPI in the operating system, download and install updated S3 Trio3D video driver filename E13T30A.EXE, or a later level if available.
