IBM PC - OS/2 video problems with S3 864 video driver

Symptom:
Various video problems when configuring PC 300 P60 or PC 700 to run OS/2 2.11 and OS/2 Warp v3.0 using the S3 864 video driver. Problems noted to date include refresh rate limit of 43Hz when configuring 2.11 and Warp v3.0 for 1024x768x256 mode, video hang with blank screen when desktop tries to load/display (SGS Thomson DAC recognition problem), plus loss of video sync when configuring Warp using the drivers shipped with Warp.
Problem Isolation Aids:
Problem does not occur using the generic VGA driver.
Fix:
Use the newest S3 864 video drivers from IBM . This driver version incorporates fixes to DAC recognition problem and 1024x768 43Hz refresh rate limit.
Do not use the SVGADATA.PMI or DAC fixes with this driver level.
