Aptiva - Bass & Treble grayed out on systems with Crystal audio

PROBLEM: Unable to alter the bass and treble adjustments for treble and bass sound anywhere on the system.
SYMPTOM:
Attempted to find a bass and treble adjustment on the following applications:
1) Audio Station, could not find any adjustments for bass and treble at all.
2) Windows 95 Multimedia Volume control. Bass and Treble were grayed out.
3) cs32mix.exe. No base and treble control were present when this application was run.
The ability is to adjust bass and treble in software is not apparant in any machine with Crystal Audio Cards although it is present on machines with Mwave.
PERMANENT FIX: This feature is not supported on the Crystal Audio Cards.
