ISA Multiprotocol Adapter - Installation under Warp on ValuePoint systems (EMEA Only)
Applicable to: EMEA
Symptom:
The Multi Protocol Adapter cannot be addressed under Warp on a ValuePoint 6382 system, and the driver that is supplied with the card does not work.
Fix:
The driver OS2MPCS.SYS must be loaded before COM.SYS in the CONFIG.SYS, in order to get more than one COM port is being used. The line in the CONFIG.SYS is as follows:
DEVICE=C:\<PATH>\OS2MPCS.SYS <MODE>
Example if 10 is used for the Mode, the card will be set to COM3 at IRQ4 and 3E8h. These parameters should then be added to the COM.SYS as (3,3e8,4). There is an error in the readme file which has got the COM 3 and COM 4 IRQs mixed up.
MODE should be set to 3 if the SDLC port is to be used.
