PURPOSE:
Replace the TFT LCD to eliminate white shading around its edges.

PHYSICAL CHECK:
To qualify for this ECA the system must have a TFT assembly, FRU P/N66G5058, with a brightness and contrast control. The TFT must also be failing with the symptom in the PURPOSE section of this ECA.
NOTE:
The new TFT LCD FRU will contain one brightness control.

DETAIL:
A low percentage of dual control TFT LCD panels on 750C/CE and 755C systems could develop a white area around the edges of the TFT LCD. The white color can very in width and intensity. It can be seen when the LCD is displaying a dark color. It is not intermittent and could become more pronounced with age. If this symptom occurs the TFT panel can be replaced using this ECA.
Replace the defective TFT LCD with FRU P/N66G5058. All current FRU stock has been screened for this condition.
NOTES:
This ECA's expiration date is 08/24/1999.
Order the FRU part locally, and record Time and Material to service code 33, ECA 003, and OTHER OFFICE 990.
EMEA PSS CE's should record all time & parts to service code 33, ECA003, other office 990.
EMEA Business Partners should use Claim type 5, quoting CPPS ECA code; "MU".
