TP 1720 - Considerations for OS/2 Warp

Below is a list of considerations for running OS/2 Warp V4.0 on your ThinkPad 1720
- IBM OS/2 Warp Version 4 user needs to get the latest BIOS from the following IBM Web site: http://www.pc.ibm.com/support
- Infrared is not supported function.
- The following PC cards are supported on OS/2:
- TokenRing cards
- Ethernet cards
- Modem cards
- IBM 3270 card
- IBM 5250 card via ThinkPad Port Replicator with Advanced EtherJet Feature on Mobile Pentium II 266 MHz model.
- IBM 5250 card on Mobile Pentium 266 MHz model.
- OS/2 Power Management function support is limited. Power management function such as Suspend/Resume must be used only when any applications are not running or user can disable suspend/resume function as follows:
- Start OS/2.
- Double click 'System Setup' icon at desktop.
- Double click 'Power' icon, then Power window will be opened
- Click upper left corner of the Power window to open standard menus
- Select 'Properties'
- At the 'Power Management' group in the 'Power' tab, select 'Power Management disabled' to inhibit power management mode.
- Hibernation is not supported.
- Hibernation is not supported with OS/2 based boot manager.
