Abstract:
Netfinity 5500 M10: Bad VRM is not indicated by System LED.

SYMPTOMS:
An installed processor will not come on line.

PROBLEM ISOLATION AIDS:
- The system is a Netfinity 5500 M10 server, Type 8661, any model.

- The system's Service Processor BIOS level is 20.

FIX:
Next release of the service processor BIOS for 8661.

WORKAROUND:
To determine if a VRM has failed the Servicer can look in the system error log. In the log will be a failed VRM message as well as message from POST indicating a failed CPU.

DETAILS:
When a bad VRM is detected, the SP does not turn on the system LED. The customer will be given a message via POST/BIOS indicating a processor has failed.
