7845 ISDN Network Terminator Extended - Identifying types of tones
Applicable to: World-Wide
Reset Tone:
This the tone that you hear when the 7845 is first installed. Two short beeps of different pitch, repeating every 3 seconds.
This tone will be heard when you go off-hook, if the 7845 is operating in Standard Mode.
Error Tone:
This is a continuous sequence of short alternating pitched tones. It can be terminated by going off-hook, or by a hook-flash.
Potential reasons for its generation are:
- Dial-sequence time out.
- Error in entering commands.
- Request for feature not subscribed from ISDN provider.
- Inability to successfully connect to the ISDN network.
- Inability to move from Standard Mode to Extended Mode.
Low Battery Warning:
This consists of a very short, high-pitched beep, repeating every 10 seconds. This signal should only occur when local AC power has been interrupted.
