TP 365X/XD - LCD Panels (Type A vs B)
Applicable to: World-Wide
Subject :
365 LCD Panels (Type A vs Type B)
There have been quite a few questions about the "Type A" and "Type B" 10.4" LCD Panel FRU's in the September, 1996 Volume 3 HMM (p173). There are two fairly straightforward ways for a servicer to determine which one they are working on.
1) The inverter card (item 6) is physically labeled with its FRU number. A servicer may look at the FRU on the inverter that is in the panel, and determine if it is an "A" or a "B".
2) There are some blowout drowings of each type panel starting on p. 143 of the HMM. The most obvious difference is in how the cable attaches to the left side of the panel (Item 7 on p. 144 for type A, Item 6 on p.148 for type B).
