Aptiva - 2144/2168 (SL-H) Considerations: System hangs and other problems with multiple versions of QuickTime

Situation:
If a user has experienced problems running SI for Kids and has installed the CD Sampler, then he/she will need to install the CD Sampler again. If the Sampler was installed and the user did not choose "Remove" when prompted to upgrade the copy of QuickTime being used, they will install a second version of QuickTime. Re-install the Sampler, being certain to choose "Remove" when prompted to upgrade the copy of QuickTime being used by SI for Kids. Before this can be done, some files previously copied to the system by the 2.0.1 install will need to be removed. These files, which are located in the C:\Windows directory, are: viewer.exe, viewenu.dll, viewenu.hlp, qtw.ini and viewer.ini. Please note that the files; viewer.exe, viewenu.dll and viewenu.hlp were installed with a read-only attribute which must be changed in order to delete them from the system. To change the attribute type "ATTRIB , filename.ext" which will remove the read-only attribute, allowing you to remove the files. After these files have been deleted, the user can re-install QuickTime 2.0.1 by executing the 'setup.exe' located in the 'qtw' directory of the MultiMedia Sampler CD.
Reason:
Multiple versions of Quicktime cause system conflicts.
Response to Customer:
If you will run setup on the Multimedia Sampler CD again and click on "Remove" when it asks if you want to upgrade the version of Quicktime on your system then the problem will be solved.
