TP 380,385 - 5250 PCMCIA card will not configure with Rumba software
Applicable to: World-Wide
SYMPTOM:
IBM 5250 PCMCIA card will not configure using Rumba software. The device shows up with a yellow ], and if you check the status, you get a device failure and it suggest changing the driver
CONFIGURATION:
IBM 5250 PCMCIA card with Wall Data's Rumba software running Windows 95 using CardSoft PCMCIA drivers.
SOLUTION:
IBM provides a driver that installs after running the hardware configuration program (hwconfig) found in the ENB5250 directory.
The driver installs in the CONFIG.SYS as C:\ENB5250\CSDD5250.SYS
This device driver when associated with the Yamato or Cardsoft drivers needs to be loaded prior to the super client driver. In other words move the c:\enb5250\csdd5250.sys above the CARDID.INI device statement in the CONFIG.SYS and your problem should be resolved.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Further support of the Wall Data's Rumba package should be obtained directly from Wall Data.
