Cross Brand - Windows NT 3.51 video test and driver installation

Symptom
During an installation of Windows NT 3.51, the system enters a hang condition after the Test button in the Display Settings panel is pressed.

Problem Isolation Aids
This tip applies, but is not limited to, IBM PC300PL Series 6862/6892 systems or other systems equipped with AGP video and installed with WindowsNT 3.51.

This tip also applies to Netfinity 3000 Type 8476 systems.

Fix
During the initial installation of Windows NT 3.51, "Cancel" must be selected at the Test Video screen in order to complete the installation.

In some instances, the system may experience a random hang condition after the default S3 Windows NT video drivers have been installed. Restarting the system in VGA mode and installing the supplied S3 video drivers will correct this condition.

Appropriate Service Packs and video drivers must be installed before testing AGP video devices.
