TP 770,600 - Improving Audio Quality When Running Intel Video Phone over ACP Modem in Ring Central
Applicable to: World-Wide
SYMPTOM:
Audio quality of a voice call deteriorates when opening the Video Phone portion of Ring Central.
CONFIGURATION:
All ThinkPads with the built in ACP Modem using the preloaded Ring Central application.
SOLUTION:
1) Using a head set with a built in microphone greatly improves the audio performance.
To enable headphones within the Intel Video Phone application, click on the configuration icon (3rd bottom from the bottom with the check mark), then go to the audio tab, then select "Using headphones".
2) Enable DSP interrupt sharing. Directions for doing this can be found in the machine's Online Book. Go to the "Resolving System resource Conflicts" section then "Sharing an IRQ Between ThinkPad modem Devices" for directions.
The Online User's Guides can also be found on the web at http://www.pc.ibm.com/us/support/thinkpad/tptechref.html
