IBM PC730/PC750 - LED inoperative during disk activity
Applicable to: World-Wide
Symptom:
The yellow LED located on the front fascia panel of the system unit does not operate during hard disk activity. Hard disk operation is otherwise unaffected.
Problem Isolation Aids:
Problem only occurs on PC 700 systems containing the factory installed Adaptec AHA-2940 SCSI-2 PCI adapter. This problem does not occur on IDE-only systems.
Fix:
The cable from the yellow LED may be attached to the planar. If so, reroute the cable so that it attaches to the 4-way connector adjacent to a red LED located on the SCSI adapter card. Connect the LED cable to the two pins nearest the red LED.
