TP General - Direct Cable Connect not working under Windows 95
Applicable to: World-Wide
SYMPTOM:
Windows 95 Direct Cable Connect seems to be setup properly, however, it will not work between the ThinkPad and another computer.
CONFIGURATION:
Any ThinkPad running Windows 95 trying to use the Direct Cable Connect Feature of Windows 95.
SOLUTION:
Make sure that the parallel port on the ThinkPad and the computer your are trying to connect to are setup for either ECP or EPP mode. If one is setup for ECP and the other is not, then they will not communicate with each other. Check in the user's guide for instructions on changing your settings. Some ThinkPads change settings through ThinkPad Features, others perform the change directly through BIOS.
