Aptiva - Unable to select a video display resolution higher than 640x480

Applicable to: United States

If you are not able to use a video resolution higher than 640x480, do the following:

1.) Press F1 to go to setup when the IBM logo comes upon a reboot.

2.) When selecting 'monitor', if you notice that resolutions higher than 640x480 are unsupported because there are no refresh frequencies filled in, insert a typical value (preferably one that is suggested by the monitor's manual) that it will sync at.

3.) Continue IPL and invoke Warp system setup.

4.) You will now be able to select a higher resolution.

This problem is most likely to appear after installing a newer video driver.
